At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, on Thursday, July 10th, 2008 JOSEPH ELIAS MILLER passed from this life at the age of 80 years. His parents were James and Louise (Bonnell) Miller. He is survived by his loving wife, Georgina Marie (McLean) Miller of Chipman; by sons, Ronald (Margaret) Miller of Moncton and Paul (Collen) Miller of Chipman; by daughter Juanita Davidson of Chipman; by brothers Charlie (Sharon), Harold (Velma) each of Coal Creek, and Burtis (Theresa) of Highfield; by sisters Doreen Swift of Minto and Barb Harrison of Cumberland Bay; by grandchildren Cheryl Black, Shonda Miller, Terry, Troy, Crystal and Melody Davidson, O.S. Miller, Stephyn, Latasha and Aston-Maria Miller, as well as by ten great-grandchildren. Joe was predeceased by son Brian Miller, brother Basil Miller and sister Gloria LeBlanc.
As a young man he worked on the farm and in the woods. He also owned a logging truck and worked for several years as a mechanic. He worked for Knox’s Mining and then finished his career at NB Coal as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and machinery. He took great pleasure in his family, especially his grandchildren and a recent great-grandchild. Joe will be remembered for his kindness and good deeds, and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Resting at the Chipman United Pentecostal Church until Sunday when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Pentecostal Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor James McLaughlin officiating, assisted by Pastor Dennis Sisco of the Christian Life Centre. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Interment in the Chipman United Pentecostal Cemetery.
