With her family at her side on February 19th, 2010 CLARA BERNICE WEBBER passed away at home at the age of 77. She is the daughter of the late Don and Regina (Bishop) Beers. Clara is survived by her daughters, Wanda Northrup of Chipman, Joanne (Lauder ) of Chipman, Roberta (Mike) of Prince George, BC, Joy (Gary) of Oshawa Ont, Janet (John) of Terrance ,B.C.and Susan (Sonny) of Pediwawa,Ontario; by her sons, Bedford (Janet) of Chipman, Gary (Roselyn) of Chipman, Robert (Marilyn)and Gorden {Dr. Elizabeth Webber} both of Oshawa ; by her sisters June Baker (Doug) of Woodstock and Debbie Austin (David) of Chipman; by brothers, Jimmy Beers of Chipman, John Beers(Brenda) of Burton and Frank Beers (Darlene) of Doaktown; by 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Murray Webber and two infant sisters, Ester Matilda and Helen Ida Beers. Resting at Chipman Funeral Home until Monday, February 22nd, 2010 when funeral service will be held at the Second Chipman United Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. David Egers officiating. Visitation is Sunday, February 21st, 2010 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Interment in the Second Chipman United Baptist Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Chipman Library would be appreciated by the family.

HAROLD EMERSON SLEEP of Cumberland Point went to be with his Lord and predeceased wife, Velma (Wilson) Sleep, on Monday, February 15th, 2010, at the age of 95 years. He is survived by son Paul (Myrtle) Sleep and daughter Doreen (John) Wood all of Cumberland Point; sisters, Violet Wilson of Saint John, Vera (Bill) Blackwell of Saint John and Lena Greenwood of Waterborough; brothers Leon Sleep of Coles Island and Gerald (Winnifred) Sleep of Hamilton, Ontario. Survived by grandchildren Daphne Smith of Melbourne Australia, Debbie May of Cumberland Point, Darren (Melanie) Sleep of Montreal, Natasha (Paul) Fougere of Fredericton, Alicia Wood of Halifax and Amy Wood of Calgary; granddaughter-in-law Sandra Sleep of Grand Bay; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Mikhayla, Elijah and Benjamin Sleep, Hannah May, Samuel, Zachary and Chloe Nightingale and Riley Fougere.
Predeceased by brothers Alvin, Ralph, Angus, and Cecil Sleep as well as his grandson Dwayne Sleep.
Resting at Chipman Funeral Home until Saturday, February 20th, 2010 when funeral service will be held at the First Grand Lake United Baptist Church, Cumberland Point at 2:00 pm with Rev. Hazen Ricker officiating. Visitation at the funeral home on Friday, February 19th, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations to the First Grand Lake United Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
LECKEY, Leslie Branscombe

At the Mill Cove Nursing Home, on Monday, January 11th, 2010 LESLIE BRANSCOMBE LECKEY of Waterborough passed away at the age of 93 years. Leslie is survived by his daughters Doreen (Archie) Smith of Jemseg, Lois (Bob) McGibbon of Waterborough, and his son Leonard Leckey of Waterborough. Also survived by his grandchildren, John Smith, Lisa and Jason McGibbon, Dustin and Danielle Leckey, Adam Cameron and Charlene McIntyre, great-grandchildren Katelyn and Angela Smith, AJ, Tabitha and Timothy Cameron as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his parents Clarence & Pearl (Branscombe) Leckey, wife Ida (Fairweather) Leckey, sister Valetta McGarity and granddaughter Marie Smith.
Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Thursday when funeral services will be held from the Waterborough Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Aubrey Trail & Rev. Steven Ferris officiating. Interment in the Young’s Cove United Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday. Following the graveside service a reception will be held at the Waterborough Womens Institute Hall.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Waterborough Baptist Church, Young’s Cove United Church Cemetery, Mill Cove Nursing Home or the charity of doner’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
HASSON, Douglas Allan

He is survived by his brothers, Allison (Marilyn) of Rothesay, Linwood (Ilene) of Quispamsis, Gordon (Ann) of Nackawic and one sister, Mary (John) Croft of Saint John. As well as sisters-in-laws Thelma Hasson of Ottawa, Tina Hasson of Salmon Creek, brother-in-law Gordon (Kathy) Fudge of Owen Sound Ont., and uncle Russell (Flora) Pollock of Chipman.
He was predeceased by his parents Ella and Walter Hasson and brothers Russell and Kenneth Hasson.
Douglas lived the majority of his life in California and enjoyed a colourful career as a international banker and as a realtor, owning his own Real Estate Company in Burbank, California. He returned home to Canada in 2004 after experiencing ill health.
Resting at Chipman Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2, 2010 with a Masonic Lodge Service at 1:45 pm and visitation from 2-4 pm.

Carol was predeceased by her husband Murray, her brothers, Clayton, Kenneth, Purdy, Reggie and Vernon. Also predeceased by her sisters, Anna, Helen and Ruth.
Carol was always ready for a laugh, joke or cup of tea, she enjoyed many summers camping and taking part in the Margie Jean Lacey group at the Chipman United Church. Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009 when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kathi Zwicker officiating. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, W.G. Bishop Nursing Home Van Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Interment in Red Bank United Cemetery at a later date.

It is with great sadness the family of KIRBY JAMES BEERS of Chipman announce his sudden passing on December 10, 2009 by accident. Kirby was born in 1976, son of Martin and Cheryl (Bartlett) Beers. He was the loving son they always hoped for. Survived by his special friend Melissa (Pettifer) of Saint John who made him very happy. Kirby leaves behind his sisters, Carol (Mark) Green of Sussex and Laurie (Stephen) Beers Pearson of Fredericton, grandparents Hazel and Gerald Beers of Chipman, as well as many cousins and friends. He was the proud uncle of Rylie, Jensen (Green), Simon ,Oliver and Hunter (Pearson). Predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Mary Bartlett. Kirby lived life to the fullest and all who knew him loved him and will miss him deeply. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always made them laugh.
Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Monday when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kathi Zwicker officiating and Rev. Carl Brewer assisting. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home, on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Memorials to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Interment was made in the Red Bank United Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Netta Pearl Betts (McPhee) at the York Manor Nursing Home on December 9th, 2009 at the age of 100. Netta was the daughter of Daniel and Edna (Hetherington) McPhee.Netta was predeceased by her husband, Hazen Betts in 1973, She is the last member of her immediate family.She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Gloria) Betts of Zealand, David (Doreen) Betts of Salmon Creek, Willard (Sharon) Betts of Orangeville Ont., Clifford (Janet) Betts of Hardwood Ridge. Daughters, Myrna (Ray) Murray of Salmon Creek and Linda Beardall (Seth) of Fredericton. Grandchildren, Darren, Hazen, Lynwood, Suzanne, Dwayne, Laurie, Nathan, Roxanne, Patricia Jo, Nicholas, Becky. Great grandchildren Katie, Keith, Sean, Megan and one great-great grandchild Koby.
Predeceased by her son Tommy Charles and one great-grandson Scott Kipp, by three sisters, Verna, Ester and an infant sister Annie Gray. Also predeceased by six brothers, Bruce, Leslie, Angus, Holly, Scott and Warren.
Resting at Chipman Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday December 12th, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.A memorial service will be held on December 13th, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall 1000 Pleasant Drive, Minto with Carl Barton officiating. Interment will be in the Newcastle Bridge Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers are grandchildren, Lynwood, Nathan, Dwayne, Nicholas, great grandsons, Sean and Friend Collin.

At the Oromocto Public Hospital, BERNICE VIRGINIA BOYD, widow of Bennett Boyd, passed away on November 1st, 2009 at the age of 95 years. Born at Gaspereau Forks, the daughter of Frank and Laura (Best) Fulton. Survived by daughters Myrtle Thompson of Fredericton, Katrina "Tenna" (Winston) Moore of Minto, Diane (Billy) Murphy and Rhonda (Leo) Saulnier of Chipman; sisters Edith Crossman, Doreen Chase, Eunice Branscombe and Helen Rogers, all of Chipman; brother Francis (Ruth) Fulton; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by a son Roydon; brothers, Cleveland, Orville, Clarence and Gerald; and half sisters Beatrice Glenn and Ruby Parlee.
Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009 when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Hazel Morris officiating. AT the DECH, BARBARA KATHERINE CHASE, passed away on October 22nd, 2009 at the age of 86 years. Born at Briggs Corner on September 1st, 1923, daughter of the late Violet (Smyth) and Alex Parkhill. Barbara is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Spencer of Chipman and son Bill (Bernadette Culligan) Chase of Fredericton; by grandchildren, Sheldon, Tanya, Liam and Georgia and one great granddaughter Katherine. She was predeceased by her husband Wesley Chase in 2005, one sister Helen Margaret Everett and by three brothers, Russell, Edwin and Reid Parkhill. Also predeceased by son-in-law Wayne Spencer.
Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Monday, October 26th, 2009 when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Helena Medeiros officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. An Orange Lodge service will be on Sunday at 6:30 pm. Memorials to the Chipman United Church or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Interment in Red Bank United Cemetery.
