    BRIGGS, ARTHUR JOHN

    BRIGGS, ARTHUR JOHN - At home on Monday, February 27th, 2006 ARTHUR JOHN BRIGGS, 68 years of age; Survived by wife, Jean (Stilwell) Briggs of Chipman; by daughters Brigitte (Steven) Johnston and Bonnie Campbell each of Fredericton; by brother Arnette (Gwen) Briggs of Chipman and by sisters, Audrey (Dave) White and Susan Stewart each of Saint John and Dora (Wayne) Leahman of Moncton ; and by three grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Hiram and Violet (Lamb) Briggs, by son Cory Briggs and by brother Clayton Briggs.  Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Wednesday when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 3:00p.m. with Rev. Jim Postlethwaite officiating. Spring interment in the Red Bank United Church Cemetery.


    BROGAN, Elsie Geraldine

    At the W.G. Bishop Nursing Home, on Saturday, June 14th, 2008 ELSIE GERALDINE BROGAN passed away at the age of 81 years. She was the daughter of Hiram and Florence (Leckey) Brogan and is survived by sisters, Gladys Blacquier of Chipman and Idella Brogan presently of the North Minto Home, as well as by nieces and nephews, and by special friend Randy Fowler. Predeceased by sister Helen Campbell, and by brothers Cyril and Malcolm Brogan.

    Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Tuesday when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Kathi Zwicker officiating. Interment in the Red Bank United Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Donations to the charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.


    BROWN, Hayward Allison

    At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, on Monday, November 26th, 2007 HAYWARD ALLISON BROWN, 81 years of age, son of Harry and Beatrice (Beers) Brown. Hayward was predeceased by his wife Faye (Roberts) Brown in 1984. He is survived by sons Roger (Maggie) Brown of Chipman and Neil (Sharon Gow) of Alberta; by daughters Cheryl (Russ) Burns of Courtney, BC and Tammy (Gene) Butland of Fredericton; by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; by brother Wayne (Barby) Brown and sisters Reta Branscombe, Gwen (Arnette) Briggs and Laura (Lindy) Langin, all of Chipman. He was predeceased by three infant children, brother Ross Brown and sister Daureen Richardson.

    Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Friday when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kathi Zwicker officiating. Interment in the Red Bank United Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart or Lung Associations would be appreciated by the family.


    Surrounded by family CAROL BEATRICE (Nee Chase) BUCHANAN of Chipman passed away at the W.G. Bishop Nursing Home on December 20th, 2009 at the age of 81. Daughter of the late Wellington and Della (Bishop). Carol is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her son Neil (Sandra) Chase of Blacks Harbour; her grandson Michael (Shawn) Chase; her granddaughter, Heather Chase and her great-grandson Daniel. Also survived by her sister-in-law Maisie Chase and many nieces and nephews.
    Carol was predeceased by her husband Murray, her brothers, Clayton, Kenneth, Purdy, Reggie and Vernon. Also predeceased by her sisters, Anna, Helen and Ruth.
    Carol was always ready for a laugh, joke or cup of tea, she enjoyed many summers camping and taking part in the Margie Jean Lacey group at the Chipman United Church. Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009 when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kathi Zwicker officiating. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
    Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, W.G. Bishop Nursing Home Van Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Interment in Red Bank United Cemetery at a later date.

    BURPEE, PHYLLIS GERTRUDE

    BURPEE, PHYLLIS GERTRUDE - passed away at the W.G. Bishop Nursing Home, Minto, on September 9th, 2007 at the age of 101 years, daughter of William & Kezia (Smith) Burpee; Miss Burpee devoted her life to serving as a missionary in Erongrocuara, Mexico. She is survived by her sister Adeline Wilson of the Bishop Nursing Home and by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Atlee Burpee and her sisters Virginia, Julia, Lula and Celia.

    Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Wednesday when funeral service will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Harry Branscombe and Rev. Norman Rust officiating. Interment following at the First Chipman United Baptist Cemetery at Gaspereau Forks. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to W.G. Bishop Nursing Home or charity of donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.


    AT the DECH, BARBARA KATHERINE CHASE, passed away on October 22nd, 2009 at the age of 86 years. Born at Briggs Corner on September 1st, 1923, daughter of the late Violet (Smyth) and Alex Parkhill. Barbara is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Spencer of Chipman and son Bill (Bernadette Culligan) Chase of Fredericton; by grandchildren, Sheldon, Tanya, Liam and Georgia and one great granddaughter Katherine. She was predeceased by her husband Wesley Chase in 2005, one sister Helen Margaret Everett and by three brothers, Russell, Edwin and Reid Parkhill. Also predeceased by son-in-law Wayne Spencer.

    Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Monday, October 26th, 2009 when funeral service will be held from the Chipman United Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Helena Medeiros officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. An Orange Lodge service will be on Sunday at 6:30 pm. Memorials to the Chipman United Church or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Interment in Red Bank United Cemetery.


    CHAVARIE, Joan Roberta

    At the Queens North Pallative Care Unit on Monday, November 26th, 2007 JOAN  ROBERTA  (FRASER)  CHAVARIE passed on; She was predeceased by her husband Leonard Chavarie and survived by children David of Chipman, Michael of Prince George and Joanne Lewis of Chipman; by six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

    At Joan’s request, the family will receive visitors at the Second Chipman United Baptist Church on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from where a funeral service will be held, on Friday, November 30th, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. David Egers and Rev. Harry Branscombe officiating. Interment in the Second Chipman United Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.


    At the W.G Bishop Nursing Home (Pallative Care Unit), Minto, Friday November 21, 2008, KENNETH C. CLARK passed away peacefully at the age of  79.  He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley; by his daughters, Beverly Clark of Chipman, Bonny (Peter) Lafferty of Quispamsis and Janice Clark of Moncton; by one son Barry Clark of Chipman; one sister Lorna Corey of Chipman, by his grandchildren, Denica, Lisa, Tina, Rod, Kim, Jim, Amanda, Brandon, Brittany and great-grandchildren, Dustin, Christie, Tyler, Grace, Noah, Ethan, Christian and Hailey as well as many nieces and nephews.  Ken was the greatest husband, father and grandfather we will miss him very much.
     
    Predeceased by his sister Evelyn Targett and brother Roy Clark.
     
    Resting at Chipman Funeral Home with visitation Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Monday from the Christian Life Centre at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dennis Sisco officating.  Internment is at the Red Bank United Cemetery.  In Lieu of flowers donations to the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.


    CLARK, Leona (Tootsie) Hazel

    Leona (Tootsie) Hazel Clark passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on December 18th, 2007 at the age of 84 years, daughter of Walter and Myrtle Legassie and widow of Hazen Clark; Survived by her sister Muriel Ward, by brothers Merton (Linda) and Vaughan (Dorothy) Legassie, all of Chipman; Predeceased by sister Aleta Heustis and brothers Lester and Ronald Legassie.

    Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Thursday when funeral service will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Spring interment at the Second Chipman United Baptist Cemetery at Chipman.     CLARKE, Tracy Richard

    At the Pallative Care Unit, Queens North Health Complex, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, June 1st, 2008 TRACY RICHARD CLARKE, of Chipman, passed away at 40 years of age after a strong courageous battle with cancer. Survived by his parents Otis Clarke of Minto and Anna Clarke of Chipman; by daughters Shana and Jennifer of Chipman; by sister Pam of Abbotsford, British Columbia and by nieces Terri-Lynn and Melanie, both of Edmonton.

    Resting at the Chipman Funeral Home until Wednesday when funeral services will be held from the Christian Life Centre, Chipman, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Sisco officiating. Interment in the Red Bank United Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Grand Lake Minor Hockey, Grand Lake Ringette Association or Chipman Youth Centre would be appreciated by Tracy.
