It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Arnott, of Albright’s Corner, NB announce her passing at the W. G. Bishop Nursing Home, Minto, NB on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the age of 97. Mom was born in 1921 daughter of the late Neal and Jessie Shipp, in Liphook, Hampshire England and widow of the late Harold Arnott.
Mom served in the ATS during the war, where she met Harold, the love of her life. Coming to Canada as a War Bride. She was a member of the Fredericton War Brides and a life member of the Oromocto Legion. She worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia in Oromocto and Lincoln until her retirement in 1986.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Jackie, son, Paul (Wendy); grandchildren, Julie (Stu), Josee, Parrish (Amanda); great grandchildren, Kelsey, Brynn, Cohen and Bennett; many nieces, nephews in western Canada and cousins in the U.K.
As well as her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her step-mother, May and her infant sister. At Mary’s request their will be no visitation or service.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Duffy Unit Oromocto Hospital and the W.G. Bishop Nursing Home for their care and compassion. In memory of Mom’s great love of animals, should you wish to make a donation to the Oromocto SPCA would be appreciated.
