BRIGGS, Roland E. – Quispamsis, NB

The family of Roland Eugene Briggs, 93 of Concorde Hall, Quispamsis, NB is sad to announce his passing on February 25, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born in Chipman, NB, he was the only child of Amos and Nellie (Fulton) Briggs. He married Lorna Babington on December 27, 1948 in Chipman, NB.
In earlier years he was employed as superintendent of masonry for Rocca Construction; and went on to own two businesses . Blown Rite Insulation and Yuletide Tree Farm.
Roland is survived by his daughter, Willa Rae (Bert) McGinley of Quispamsis; step-granddaughter, Kelly (Tim) Small of Saint John, and several cousins.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Lorna Briggs in 2016.
Special thanks to the staff of Shannex, of the Saint John Regional Hospital and his physician, Dr. A. Ross.

Family will receive comfort at the Chipman Funeral Home Ltd. & Crematorium on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.  A celebration of Roland’s life will be held at 2:00 pm following the visitation with Rev. Betty-Jean Friedman officiating.

Sorry to hear of Roland’s passing. Roland, Amos & Nellie were neighbors on Briggs Road to my grand-parents and there were lots of visits in those days. He enjoyed his time there to tend to the trees in later years as well. Condolences to Willa Rae and family.
