HICKEY, Joseph S. – Chipman, NB

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Joseph Sarto Hickey at his home on the morning of October 21st. Joe was born in Saint John, NB on July 13, 1945, son of the late Sarto and Doris (O’Brien) Hickey. He will be forever remembered by his son, Stephen (Kim) Hickey; his partner Joanne Webber and her family; sisters, Judy McMurray and Joan (Leonce) Savoie; brothers, Gerard and Paul Hickey; his only grandchild, Meg Hickey; several wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins and his former wife Patricia Hickey and in- laws, Barbara and Robert Black. Joseph is predeceased by his parents, sister, Mary Cosgrove and brother, Peter Hickey.Those who had the pleasure of knowing Joe would say he was the kindest, most generous, hard working man they knew. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

A family service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 1:00 from the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, Summerville, NB. There will be a Celebration of Life at the church hall from 2:30 – 6:30 pm. Donations in Joseph’s memory made to Bobby’s Hospice (506-632-5593) in Saint John, NB would be appreciated by the family.
