Born in Sussex NB on July 15/62, son of Helen May (Campbell) and Murray George Proctor. Survived by his Loving wife Debbie Proctor (Beers) who devoted the last 17 months to his care , Wilma and Freddy his favorite kitties who were a constant comfort to him, Twin Brother Dan (Nancy), Bonnyville AB, Jerry (Anne), Connie Riedle, Cathy Proctor, Joan Proctor, all of Sussex NB, Jane Cowan (Mike) Riverview NB, Aunt Dodie Campbell, Norton, Uncle Pat Lovett St. George, Mother and father-in-law Joyce and Norman Beers, sister-in-law Darlene (Serge) and brother-in-law Daryl (Colette) of Moncton and many nieces , nephews and cousins and extended family.. He was a loving stepfather to Justin (Sami), Andrew, Riley (Jen) and Jaden (Ryan). Granddaughter Mila and Grandson Wyatt.
David Graduated from Sussex High School in 1980, going on to earn his degree in Marketing/Business at Saint John Community College. He dedicated 28 years as a volunteer to the Sussex Fire Department. Underground mining was David’s choice of work, where he travelled to and from mines across Canada.David’s extracurricular activities included his love for golf, badminton, baseball, ping pong, playing cards and canoeing. His humor would always be on display as a participant or spectator and his hilarious one liners will be remembered forever.
After his diagnosis with terminal Cancer in May (2017) his wish to travel while his health allowed him made for memorable trips to The Cabot Trail , Los Angeles and Cuba.
David’s love and devotion to his wife Debbie and family will be remembered by all. David’s love of bonfires, his quick wit and sense of humor created many happy gatherings with friends and family. David’s light will always live on in the hearts of all who have ever crossed his path. He was always grateful for family and the people of Sussex for their thoughtfulness during his battle with cancer. #proctorstrong. Raise a drink in honor of David and don’t forget your koozie!
