It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ida Patricia (Weaver) Smith at her home on July 8, 2020. Ida was born in Coal Creek, NB on April 5, 1939 the daughter of the late Moses and Pearl (Storey) Weaver.
Ida resided in the Village of Gagetown during the early years of her marriage, but returned to her beloved Coal Creek for the later years of her life. Ida cared for many people in her lifetime, having worked in various nursing homes and in many private homes as a home care worker. She loved to make people laugh and loved her clients.
In addition to her parents, Ida was predeceased by her husband, Harold, her son, Vincent; brothers, John and Leonard; nephew, Bradley Slocum.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Wright; brothers, Fred Weaver, Wade (Shawn) Weaver and Mark Weaver; daughter-in-law, Mary Smith; sister-in-law, Judy Weaver; grandchildren, Mitchell Walton, Mathew (Melissa) Smith and Meagan Smith; great-grandchildren, Cody, Brooklyn and Avery; many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at the Weaver Cemetery, Coal Creek on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 1:30 pm with pastor Steven Ferris officiating. Everyone is welcome to attend. Due to Covid-19 restrictions , social distancing and a facial mask is required.
Donations in memory of Ida made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society or the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
