It is with great sadness that the family of Geneva Christine Welton (Fairweather) announces her death on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Mill Cove Nursing Home. Geneva was born October 2, 1932 in Cumberland Bay N.B. a daughter of the late William E. Fairweather and Bertha (Clark) Fairweather.

Geneva had a passion for animals especially birds and Winston her precious pug. She loved cooking painting, music ,quilting and especially enjoyed time spent with family, friends and neighbours. She and her beloved husband were always there to help anyone in need and were active members of their church all of their lives. Her grandchildren were the jewels in her life and she so loved their visits. Geneva is survived by her son Darrell (Linda) of Cumberland Bay, Daughter Faye (Erick)) of Cumberland Bay, daughter, Terrie (Chuck) of Quispamsis, grandchildren Jason, Aaron, Nathan, Branden, Madison, and great grandchildren Dominic, Chloe, Jacob, Scarlet and Geneva; her beloved sister Ethel Moss and nephew Edmund and niece Brenda. Geneva was predeceased by her husband Murray Welton in 2018.

A private family celebration of her life will be held at the Cumberland Bay United Cemetery on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cumberland Bay United Cemetery, New Brunswick Mental Health Association or the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Always a smiling face & a welcoming phrase greeted us whenever we saw Geneva. She truly made you feel her love for you. I always enjoyed her company & conversation…I will always remember her with love in my heart for her…she will not be forgotten….lots of love & prayers for all those she left behind…looking forward to seeing her again when we meet in God’s mansion.

I am truly heart broken, I will miss seeing her smiling face an the always comforting hug. I will miss our talks and our card games. She was always warm an welcoming and loved a good laugh. I was only part of her family for a short while but she always treated me like family. To the family, We are saddened for your loss. Your mom / grandmother will be remembered as a gracious and humble lady that always had a smile and kind words. As a child your home was always a favourite place to visit. Both of your parents were excellent cooks and there was always wonderful treats to be had. Geneva was a very loving kind lady, I remember Her and Murray visiting with mom and dad(Betty and Orland) She always brought some kind of food with her to give . My deepest condolences to those she went before, she will be sadly missed.
